Audio-Visual (AV) Technician

Display Group is seeking an Audio-Visual Technician to join our exciting, growing business! As an audio-visual technician, this role will assist our production team in bringing assets to life for our clients. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic to grow their skills.

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with clients, on-site leads, and project managers to understand event requirements, scope, and objectives and to provide recommendations for best practices
  • Creatively and proactively solve problems that arise, using your team as assets
  • Set up, install, and run equipment such as microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, lighting installations, rigging installations, cabling, scenic props, etc.
  • Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout
  • Test and resolve equipment issues
  • Clean audio, video, and lighting equipment and store properly
  • Ensure the safe transfer and shipment of equipment, as well as the secured storage and integrity of video and audio data files post-event


Prerequisites: 

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • 3-5 years of prior event production AV required
  • Thorough knowledge of audiovisual (AV) event production technology and subject matter
  • Understanding digital audio, video and lighting equipment and programs
  • Experience in Flex or a similar system
  • Has a great team attitude and is detail oriented
