Project Overview

On the 1200 block of Woodward Avenue, an immersive art installation designed by Display Group called “Creative Factory” allows passersby to interact with a sensory assembly line of ambient sounds, rotating sculptures and abstract visuals—paying homage to Detroit’s roots in manufacturing and design. Active from July through end of October.

Challenges
P-rated build (consideration to the elements), power access, designing/fabricating motion control triggers and mechanisms

Solutions
Build materials to withstand regular wear and tear of an interactive display, onsite repairs when needed, Display Group’s design + build team working in concert from beginning to end

Result
A new Summer landmark of Downtown Detroit, adding to the vibrancy of a bustling Woodward Ave. A reminder to pause, imagine, and play.
