The Western genre is one that has not only been around for many decades now, it is a much-admired theme that brings with it that old-style, nostalgic, Americana feel that was so very popular at this special time in history. A Western theme also represents a time when there was no grey areas, as you were either considered to be a law-abiding citizen or an outlaw, which adds an extra element to the Western movie prop theme.

Figuring out which movie props to use that will fit your particular needs is not difficult to do as there is a large variety of Western related props that will surely fit your specific movie prop needs.

Detroit 187 Premiere

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Detroit 187 had its premiere at the MGM Grand in Detroit and Display Group was called upon to provide decor for the event. It was a big premiere so red carpet and stanchions were a must in addition to step and repeat banner, lighted high top tables, lounge furniture, and drapery. We also provided stage drape for the episode that was filmed on the Detroit Princess boat.

What is Detroit 187?

To summarize, it’s a police homicide division crime drama based in Detroit. The synapsis from ABC’s website is:

What does it take to be a detective on America’s streets? Get an in-depth look at some of Detroit’s finest and watch the crisis and revelation, heartbreak and heroism of the cops assigned to an inner city homicide unit.

The initial viewing was great and we really look forward to seeing more of this show. It will be great to see Detroit landmarks on t.v. and have the film industry continuing to stay in our region. Here are some pictures from the premiere event:

The t.v. premiere is on Tuesday September 21st at 10/9c on ABC.

Lemonade Detroit Shoots Interviews In Our Loft Space

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Update: The trailer was now released, which is included below.

We recently had Lemonade Detroit shoot interviews of Detroiters being successful in Detroit despite the economy. From their own website, the synopsis for the movie is:

“Lemonade: Detroit” is a film about the disarming resilience of a city that can no longer rely on a single industry for its livelihood, and the entrepreneurial strengths of those who are reinventing themselves and their communities.

Instead of sensationalizing blight, “Lemonade, Detroit” will sensationalize hope, told through the intensely personal stories of those who are turning the city into what it will become.

What they’ve done in other markets, they’re now doing in Detroit with a Motown twist. This is a great opportunity to see hope in Detroit and positive news instead of the countless negativity that we encounter every day. There are bright spots in Detroit, there are success stories in spite of the economy, and there is hope. The following trailer for Lemonade Movie shows you what they’ve done before, although they were here in Detroit shooting for a new movie on hope in Detroit, it gives you an idea of the excellent film makers that are putting it together!

You can also view a little more of one of the interviews that is the owner of my favorite crepe place! As Torya Goes, Detroit Goes

The Lemonade Detroit crew was also nice enough to take some great shots of our loft space that they used downstairs for interviews and some shots of a portion of the warehouse they took over upstairs for a different backdrop. We would like to thank Erik Proulx and everyone from Lemonade for using our space to shoot such a great movie with an excellent message.
